Recruiting Tidbit: Adolphus Washington

It looks like MSU's chances of getting a commitment from All-American defensive end Adolphus Washington have improved over the weekend.  He now has the Spartans among his final three choices -- the other two schools are Ohio State and Alabama -- and he will be making his decision on November 9.  Folks, a commitment from Washington would be enourmous.  It would turn MSU's defensive line from very good to elite.  He and Pittman would almost certainly become a dream defensive end tandem.  It would also signal that MSU has reached a new level in its recruiting prowess.  Apart from William Gholston, Washington would be the Spartans' highest rated recruit in this past decade.  He and Pittman and Burbridge would also combine to turn this class into one of the Spartans' best, ever.  And it would probably lead to the commitment of more top rated recruits over the next few months.

Anyway, like with Danny O'Brien, I won't get too excited until Washington actually commits.  O'Brien was apparently down to MSU and Tennessee and he chose Tennessee.  So all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.

  1. Washington would be huge. We'd be terrorizing folks off the edge for a LONG time to come. Pittman and Washington could redshirt, or they could skip it. It'd be their choice. Man that'd be hot.

  2. Imagine a defensive end rotation that includes Washington, Pittman, William Gholston, Lawrence Thomas, and Marcus Rush. That would have to be the deepest and fiercest rotation of defensive ends in the country, for years to come. It's gotta be too good to happen.
